A local and national landmark, the cathedral interior
was faithfully restored, providing a rare example of the ornate Gothic
Revival style.
SMS was commissioned to provide effective and
economical modern illumination for the cathedral using fixtures designed
to replicate the originals as closely as possible. The fixtures look
old but are brand new and highly efficient.
Modern dimming and color
technology allow easy adjustments to highlight the exceptional artwork
in the building, or help direct the focus of worshippers for different
occasions. All this is operated by priests who select from among a
variety of pre-programmed "looks" at the push of a button.
