This award-winning project provides a venue for community arts organizations as well as a home for Lancaster's professional theatre company. SMS provided interior design, theatre technology, and architectural lighting services for the 1995 renovation of this 684-seat historic opera house, which also included new construction for expansion of the facility. The city, state, and private donors provided the funding for the project, and each had its own agenda for the project. SMS constructed a series of sizzling meetings with all parties present, as well as one-on-one follow-up meetings, then synthesized the common interests into the written program for the project, which satisfied the needs of all participants and users.
