Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre, Denver Arts Center
Denver, Colorado

Designed to serve Broadway touring productions and Denver Center constituents, such as the Denver Symphony Orchestra, this facility was originally a sports arena.  SMS convinced local officials that a theatre of 2800-seat capacity would minimize operating costs while maximizing box office revenue. Careful layout of loading facilities and support spaces ensure quick "ins" and "outs" and easy setup. The seating plan produces the highest possible average ticket price, and the sections with loose-chair seating for the disabled are regularly requested by all patrons because of their desirable location.

"Highest grossing theatre in America under 3000 seats in 1997."
