 The Nederlander Organization hired SMS to provide interior design and architectural lighting services for the renovation of the 1930 Art Deco movie palace designed by B. Marcus Priteca. The $10 million face-lift of the 2700-seat theatre was in preparation for the October 2000 opening of Disney's The Lion King. On opening night of The Lion King "...the
crowd seemed almost as impressed with the theater's renovation as
with the production itself.."
